How to Remove CouponUnity Ads From Your PC? – Adware Removal Guide

How to get rid of CouponUnity from your PC step by step?

To stop those annoying pop-up ads, you need to uninstall the program which is responsible for them from the computer completely. The instructions below show you how to remove the unwanted program in detail.

Step1: Uninstall CouponUnity from your computer via Control Panel

Windows 10

Open the Start menu on the taskbar and then click on the Settings. Click on the System icon and then click on App & features. Find out the program that you want to leave and click on Uninstall button to remove it.

Windows Vista/ Windows 7/8

Open Control Panel from Start and then select View by: Category. You will then see Uninstall a program listed under the Programs heading. Click on Uninstall a program and many installed programs will be displayed in the screen. Look for CouponUnity or other programs that from the same company or with similar alias and click on Uninstall button to uninstall it from the PC.

Windows XP

Click on Start button, go to Control Panel, and then double click on Add/Remove Programs. Search for the adware program and click on Remove button to remove it.

Step2: Remove suspicious browser add-ons/extensions

Sometimes the unwanted program may install itself as a browser extension or add other add-ons/plug-ins to the browsers. It they can’t be removed from Control Panel, to get rid of the ads completely, you need to remove any dubious add-on from the browsers.

Open IE browser, click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons. If you use Internet Explorer 11, click the Tools button (the one that looks like a wheel or a gear) on the top-right side of the browser window and then select Manage Add-ons.


Go to the appropriate type of add-ons: Toolbars and Extensions and find the one you want to disable. Click or right click on the add-on that you want to delete, and then click Remove button to delete it from IE.


Chrome-Icon Google Chrome

Click on the Chrome menu button (3 horizontal lines) at the top-right corner of the browser. Click on More Tools in the menu and the click on Extensions.


A list of all your current Chrome extensions, or add-ons, will show up. Search for CouponUnity or other extensions that is related to the unwanted program and click on the trashcan icon to remove them.(Take Docs for example)

Click Tools on the menu bar or the Firefox menu button on the top right corner and choose Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager page will open.


In the Add-ons Manager page, select the Extensions on the left. Find the add-on that may be installed by the unwanted program and click the Remove button. (Take PriceExpert for example)


Opera-icon Opera

Open Opera, click on “Opera” at the top left corner and select Extensions and then select Extensions manager. Or you can press Ctrl + Shift + E to open the Opera extensions page quickly.


In the Extensions page, find any extension associated with CouponUnity and remove it from the browser.


safari-icon Safari

Open Safari browser, click the menu icon at the top right corner of the browser and select Preferences from the menu. Or can also use the key combination “Ctrl +,” to bring up the Preferences window quickly.


In the window, select Extensions tab. If any unwanted extension is found there, select it and then click Uninstall button.



If you use Edge browser, extensions aren’t available in Microsoft Edge at this time.

Note: Sometimes, the add-on can’t be removed because the Remove or Uninstall button next to it becomes grey or even disappears. In this case, how can you remove them? If you are a computer expert, it’s OK to delete the unwanted browser extension by modifying the registry entries. Step3: Reset your browser settings to remove CouponUnity

In IE browser, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. If you use Internet Explorer 11, click the gear button on the top-right side and then select Internet Options.


In the Internet Options window, click on the Advanced tab and click the Reset button at the bottom of the window.


Tick the checkbox of Delete personal settings and this will reset your home page and search providers, as well as delete temporary files, history entries, and cookies. Then click on Reset button.


Chrome-Icon Google Chrome

Open Chrome browser, type chrome://settings/resetProfileSettings in the Chrome’s address bar and Reset browser settings window will open immediately.


Click on Reset button and your Chrome browser settings will be restored to their original defaults.

Alternatively, you can click on the Chrome menu button (3 horizontal lines) at the top-right corner of the browser and then click on Settings from the menu.

Then type reset in the search box in the page and click on Reset browser settings button. Click on the Reset button to restore your Chrome settings to defaults. CouponUnity will be deleted from your Chrome browser.


firefox-icon Mozilla Firefox

Click Help on the menu bar and select Troubleshooting Information. Or click the Firefox menu button and choose Open Help Menu at the bottom of the drop-down menu and then click on Troubleshooting Information.


In the page, click the Refresh Firefox button.


A window will pop up and warn you that what will be erased from Firefox. Click on Refresh Firefox button to confirm it.


Opera-icon Opera

The Opera browser does not come with any built-in Reset feature. You can follow the steps below to manually reset it.

Open Opera browser and type opera://about in the address bar.


In the About Opera page, locate to the Paths section. Write down the paths of the Profile and Cache and the close Opera.


According to the paths you wrote down, find and delete these two folders: Profile and Cache. Open your Opera browser again and you will find all its settings are reset and CouponUnity is gone.

Open Safari browser, click the menu icon at the top right corner of the browser and select Reset Safari… from the menu.



Select the items you want to reset and then click on Reset button to reset your Safari browser.

If it won’t delete, then open it and delete all its components, then try again to delete the whole thing. That does break Edge for the user.

To get it running again from an admin PowerShell prompt;

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}

You may run PowerShell as administrator by finding it in the Start list, then right-clicking and choosing the administrator option.
